The Idaho Division of Veteran Services Office Facility was performed for the State of Idaho Department of Public Works and is located at the existing Idaho State Veteran’s Hospital site off of Collins Road in Boise, Idaho.  The project included a new office facility with appurtenant site improvements including sidewalks, curb and gutter, parking modifications/improvements, and landscaping.  Civil engineering design tasks included grading and drainage design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, utility design, and water main easement dedication and vacation.  The project is unique in that there were several large trees located on the small site that presented design challenges for siting of the building and for grading and drainage design.  Erickson Civil developed a drainage concept to maximize the available site area for stormwater management, while providing efficient storm water treatment utilizing vegetative Best Management Practices with little if any disruption to the site natural features.
